Sunday, MJ Rodriguez will be in attendance at the Emmys, where she’s nominated as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She is the first trans actress to have achieved this groundbreaking milestone and she doesn’t take this responsibility lightly.
In an interview with Elle Magazine, MJ discussed her career in Hollywood and the many years it took for the world to be ready to celebrate trans actors and value them for their work. MJ knows that she’s making history and feels the weight of it. “The feeling is euphoric, elating, and mind-boggling too. Because 10 years before ‘Pose’ was even a thought, I was working really hard to really make my stance in the industry and fight for a safe place, not only for myself, but for those coming behind me, and to think that a moment like this can happen, it doesn’t go unnoticed. It’s surreal, girl. I dreamed it, I thought it, but I never thought it would happen,” she said.
MJ also mentioned the important trans women who’ve made it possible to be where she is today. When asked about future opportunities for trans actors, MJ said that there are more opportunities now than they’ve ever been for trans women. “With actresses like Alexandra Grey and Laverne Cox and models like Leyna Bloom, the work that ‘Pose’ laid down, and getting a nomination like this, I feel like it’s finally opening up the door,” she said.
MJ also discussed her new single, which was released in June of this year, called “Something To Say.” “[The song] speaks about how humans on this Earth have still yet to realize how much we have in common with each other and how we need to fight together as a unit to really understand that we can push the needle forward if we do it together. “
MJ’s career is in a bright place. Her upcoming projects include Lin Manuel Miranda’s “Tick, Tick… Boom!” a musical that will premiere on Netflix. She’s also involved in the series “Loot,” alongside Maya Rudolph, where she’ll showcase her comedic side, something she’s very excited about.

#RHOA: Porsha Williams May Not Be Leaving ‘RHOA’ Amid Cast Shakeup Rumors!
She hasn’t dropped her peach quite yet. Despite speculation that Porsha Williams is leaving “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” a source close to the Bravo star says “nothing is finalized at this point.”

Rumors of a major cast shakeup circulated on the internet Thursday night, worrying fans that Williams, 40, is moving on from the show.
A second show insider said that the Go Naked Hair founder has previously thought about making an exit.
“In the past, Porsha has repeatedly told her castmates that she doesn’t want to come back to the show. Even though it’s such a successful show and she’s loved by fans, she thinks she might want to explore her career beyond the show,” the source explained. “She’s also worn out by Kenya [Moore] and all the drama she’s put her through.”
Although Williams and Moore, 50, have feuded over the years — including a memorably violent scuffle at the Season 6 reunion in 2014 — the first insider assured us that if Williams chooses to leave “RHOA,” it won’t be because of her longtime frenemy and their fluctuating friendship.
“Porsha has a lot more going on in her life than anything having to do with Kenya,” the source said.
Williams’ ascent within the Bravo-verse has been remarkable. She first entered the “RHOA” fold on 2012’s Season 5, during which she was married to former NFL player Kordell Stewart. After their divorce was finalized in 2013, she quickly blossomed into a fan favorite who is loved for her vibrant personality and witty one-liners.
In 2019, Williams was given her own spin-off, titled “Porsha’s Having a Baby,” which documented her road to parenthood with now-ex Dennis McKinley and the birth of their daughter, Pilar Jhena. She currently hosts “Bravo’s Chat Room” alongside “The Real Housewives of Potomac” star Gizelle Bryant.
We exclusively reported in May that Bravo greenlit a second spin-off for Williams about “her [Black Lives Matter] activism and her family.”
Williams — who accepted a proposal from businessman Simon Guobadia this summer — will likely detail her rise to fame in her upcoming memoir, “The Pursuit of Porsha: How I Grew Into My Power and Purpose.”
“There are so many opportunities for Porsha right now,” the second source noted. “There’s a feeling she may have outgrown ‘Housewives’ and could very well pull a Bethenny Frankel or NeNe Leakes, where she takes time off and then comes back.”
A rep for Williams could not be immediately contacted, while Bravo declined to comment for this story.
While Williams’ participation is up in the air, the insider added that Cynthia Bailey’s return is “still a question mark, too.” However, Season 13 newbie Drew Sidora will certainly be back as well as “RHOA” OG Shereé Whitfield. Kandi Burruss, Moore and longtime “friend of” Marlo Hampton are also set to return.
“Drew is definitely coming back because a good portion of the ‘RHOA’ ladies don’t have husbands. Her husband [Ralph Pittman] was very present last season and producers loved that,” the insider said. “So, their relationship will play a big part in the next season.”
When filming resumes this fall, Bravo hopes to explore Whitfield’s romance with her ex-con boyfriend, Tyrone Gilliams, who spent eight years behind bars for white-collar crimes. He was released from prison in February amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“Shereé will be there as well. Her presence will definitely be felt. Because Sheree’s relationship with Tyrone is still very alive, Bravo is super interested in what she can bring to the table this year,” the source said, adding that Whitfield’s status as “friend of” or full-time is still undecided. “The network will test her out again.”
The 51-year-old SHE by Shereé designer originated “RHOA” in 2008 alongside Leakes, Lisa Wu, DeShawn Snow and Kim Zolciak. She made an exit after Season 4 but came back as a “friend of” for Season 8. Whitfield regained her full-time position for Season 9 and 10 before departing again in 2018.
A premiere date for “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 14 has yet to be announced.

Fat Joe is giving Ja Rule his flowers. Following their Verzuz battle earlier in the week, the two went live on Instagram where Joe reflected on Rule’s reign in the late ’90s/early 2000s. Joe showered the Murder Inc. rapper with praise, even going so far as to call him the Drake of his era.
“With no disrespect to your hip-hop roots, you’re a pop star,” Joe told him. “I always tell everybody, you was the Drake before the Drake. You had hit after hit after hit after hit.”
Ja responded by giving props to the Certified Lover Boy. “Drizzy one of the GOATs,” he said as Joe wholeheartedly agreed.
From 1999 to 2005, Ja dominated the charts with hit after hit including “I’m Real (Murder Remix)” and “Ain’t It Funny” with Jennifer Lopez, plus “Always on Time” and “Mesmerize” with Ashanti, which he performed during Tuesday’s Verzuz.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky had a late-night date night at El Puerto Seafood & Fish Market in Harlem in the early morning hours on Friday.
The rapper, 32, and RiRi, 33, were photographed looking loved up as they hit the shabby seafood spot at 3 a.m.
Both artists had big smiles on as they entered the eatery. The “Diamonds” singer looked cool as ever in a black leather bomber jacket with a white tank underneath and coordinating black leather pants. She topped her braids with a fuzzy black bucket hat.
She also accessorized with black sunglasses, a pearl necklace, as well as a long gold chain adorned with a massive gold medallion.
Meanwhile, A$AP looked like a crossing guard wearing a black hooded zip-up sweatshirt with reflectors on the elbows. He matched his girlfriend in his own pair of leather pants.
Rihanna was also seen hugging a fan outside the joint and even gave someone a $20 bill. The pair posed for pics with a group of fans on their way back to their black SUV.
They made their red carpet debut as a couple earlier this week at the Met Gala.
The duo first fueled dating rumors in January 2020 shortly after the Fenty boss’ breakup from Hassan Jameel.
While they seemingly posed on the red carpet together as just friends at the British Fashion Awards a month before, they didn’t take their romance public until November 2020 when they had a night out together with pals at west Village spot Beatrice Inn.
Since then, they have been on a love tour, with A$AP joining Rihanna for the holidays in her native Barbados last year and showing PDA in the city over the summer.
Billy Porter Says 'I Am No More Silenced' His Life Has Been 'Freeing' Since Sharing His HIV Diagnosis!
Billy Porter was an honoree at The Elizabeth Taylor Ball to End AIDS event in West Hollywood on Friday where he opened up about life since sharing his HIV diagnosis with the world.
via People: “There is a shame component with being Black, with being queer, with having HIV that is silencing and destructive,” Porter explained. “I am no more silenced, I am no more shamed, and I’m ready for whatever comes next.”
The 2021 Emmys nominee said he’s received “wonderful feedback” from many people who were “uplifted” by his story and “felt seen because of it” in the months following his announcement.
“I think it’s important that those of us who have a platform use our platforms in ways that move difficult conversations forward,” he told PEOPLE, “and that can be transformative in some way and make a change, make a difference.”
Porter will strike a similar tone in his upcoming book “Unprotected: A Memoir,” which he says “is about healing trauma through my art.”
As for Elizabeth Taylor, Porter lauded her courage to become a role model not just for him, but for many others worldwide after HIV and AIDS first came into prominence in the 1980s.
“She taught us all how to love unconditionally in the middle of one of the darkest times in American history,” he told PEOPLE. “It is a profound and humbling honor to be here and to be recognized and to have my voice and my name mentioned in the same breath as the other honorees this evening. It’s profound and it’s emotional.”
Dr. Anthony Fauci, amFAR, and National AIDS Policy director Sandra Thurman also received the Elizabeth Taylor Commitment to End AIDS award as fellow honorees.
In May, Porter revealed in an essay for The Hollywood Reporter that he first tested positive for HIV in 2007, which he called “the worst year of [his] life.” The Pose star said shame led him to live with the diagnosis in silence for the next 14 years.
“I was the generation that was supposed to know better, and it happened anyway,” Porter wrote. “I was on the precipice of obscurity for about a decade or so, but 2007 was the worst of it. By February, I had been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. By March, I signed bankruptcy papers. And by June, I was diagnosed HIV-positive.”
Growing up in the Pentecostal church among a “very religious family,” Porter said being HIV-positive was considered to be “God’s punishment.” He only informed a select few people of his diagnosis before his public announcement in May.
“I was trying to have a life and a career, and I wasn’t certain I could if the wrong people knew,” he penned in the essay. “It would just be another way for people to discriminate against me in an already discriminatory profession.”
Porter said he tried to avoid thinking about being HIV positive as much as possible. “I tried to block it out. But quarantine [for COVID-19] has taught me a lot. Everybody was required to sit down and shut the f— up.”
During an appearance on The Tonight Show later that month, the Like A Boss actor told Jimmy Fallon that the diagnosis weighed “heavy” on him after living through the AIDS crisis.
Now that his secret is out in the open, however, Porter said he felt liberated. “I lived with the shame of it for a really long time and last week I released that shame, I released that trauma and I am a free man, honey! Free!” he told Fallon.
“I’ve never felt joy like this before,” he continued, later adding, “I got some joy now. It really feels good, it really feels great.”

But it didn’t happen intentionally and he knows that for a fact," the statement starts.
According to the explanation, the faux limited-edition Patek Philippe the Atlanta rapper purchased from the company was bought from a third party and not thoroughly vetted. "Everyone that knows me knows that I don’t play games when it comes to my brand and especially my clients brands," the statement continues. "I personally want to apologies to @lilbaby for not doing my due-diligence when selling him the Patek watch. I should have inspected the watch after purchasing it from the dealer. I take full responsibility for not doing my job properly. I personally would NEVER knowingly sell him or anyone else anything that is not 100% authentic. I have known @libaby for a while and there is nothing fake about him - especially his jewelry and watches. I want to personally apologies to Lil Baby for what has transpired. Rafaello & Co. took immediate action to rectify this. We worked directly with Lil Baby to refunded him in full and have gifted him rings as a token of our sincere apologies."

On Friday night (Sept. 17), Baby called the company out on Instagram for selling him the fake watch, which he learned was fake after sharing an image of the timepiece on Instagram and being called out for its lack of authenticity.

Darius Rucker Says Ex Kate Quigley Is ‘Doing Great’ After Overdose!
Comedian Kate Quigley is recovering from an accidental group overdose that killed three others, says her ex-boyfriend, Darius Rucker.
“You know, she’s doing great. She’s coming out of that,” the 55-year-old country singer told People at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Friday. “I’m glad that she’s doing that.”
Quigley, 39, allegedly used cocaine that was laced with fentanyl at a neighbor’s party with fellow comedians Fuquan Johnson, Enrico Colangeli and their friend, Natalie Williamson.
Johnson, Colangeli and Williamson did not survive the overdose.
“My heart goes out to all the other victims, but [Quigley] is doing okay,” added Rucker, who stopped dating Quigley earlier this year, according to TMZ.
The “Date Fails” podcast host addressed the overdose and death of her friends after being released from the hospital. She thanked the paramedics, nurses and doctors who saved her life as well as the supporters for their “outpouring of kind messages.”
“I am still shocked & devastated by the loss of my friends Fu, Rico, and Natalie,” part of her statement read. “Words cannot describe the pain I am feeling & I will be changed forever by their passings.”
The “Beers and Sunshine” singer began dating Quigley in 2020 after splitting from his wife of 20 years, Beth Leonard, as Page Six exclusively reported.
It’s unclear when the two became romantic, but Quigley shared a photo of herself sitting in Rucker’s lap on social media in September — two months after Rucker and Leonard announced their split.
Their last photo together on her social appears to be in May.
Jamie Foxx Pays Tribute To Michael K. Williams, Saluting Late Actor For His “Fearlessness,” “Mystique” & “Pure Raw Talent”!
Jamie Foxx has broken his silence with regard to his friend, Michael K. Williams, who died at his Brooklyn home on September 6, aged 54.
The Oscar winner remembered the Lovecraft Country star in an Instagram post published Friday, explaining that it took him “a minute” to gather his “thoughts and emotions,” after hearing the news of his death.
“I wanted to do right by you with my words,” he wrote. “I wanted to let you know that you are beloved.”
Foxx shared in his post that he and Williams “broke bread” not too ago, which made hearing of his passing all the more surreal. “We talked about art… We talked about acting…” he shared. “You spoke of your mother in such a powerful and endearing way…about how she was your biggest fan…”
The actor added that while he was “always in awe” of Williams’ performances—how he could be “so grounded… So real,” there’s one New York night spent with the actor at a fashion show put on by Oswald Boteng that really sticks with him, as far as personal memories of their friendship.
“The clothes were epic… The music was tailor-made… But the night belonged to you…[When] you walked out…We jumped to our feet…” he wrote. “We not only applauded the way you poured into the suit flawlessly… we cheered because we knew you were special… fearlessness… Mystique… And pure raw talent was before us.
“It was soul stirring…angelic… [a] glorious night,” added Foxx, who signed off by writing, “RIP MKW.”
The actor’s tribute to Williams came two days ahead of the Primetime Emmy Awards, where he looks to compete for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, with his turn in HBO’s Lovecraft Country.

Asian American actress/comedian Awkwafina can’t seem to escape the questions about her use of African American dialect. During a recent interview with Reuters, where the Queens native was promoting her Marvel movie Shang-Chi, Awkwafina was asked about the blacccent she spoke with earlier in her career and most notably in the 2018 film Crazy Rich Asians.
“I’m open to the conversation,” she responded. “I think it really is something that is a little but multi-faceted and layered…” The 33-year-old, born Nora Lum, burst onto the scene in 2012 with a popular comedic rap song titled “My Vag.” She rose to prominence on the MTV series “Girl Code” and has since been cast in a string of movies: Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, Ocean’s 8, Crazy Rich Asians, Jumanji: The Next Level, The Farewell and Raya and the Last Dragon. Last year, she became the first Asian American woman to win a Golden Globe Award for best actress in a musical/comedy. She received the coveted honor for her role in The Farewell. She is also the executive producer and star of her own show, “Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens,” on Comedy Central.

Last month, Lum was criticized on social media when a comment she made in a 2017 interview with VICE went viral. “I refuse to do accents,” she said at the time. “I’m not OK with someone writing the Asian experience for an Asian character. Like that’s annoying and I make it very clear, I don’t ever go out for auditions where I feel like I’m making a minstrel out of our people.”
Some found the statement to be hypocritical, due to her repeated use of African American Vernacular English. Lum was born and raised in Flushing, Queens. She’s half Chinese and half Korean. She’s released two hip hop albums, Yellow Ranger and In Fina We Trust. It’s unclear, at the moment, whether she actually plans to delve into the “multi-faceted” and “layered” conversation regarding her blaccent.

Sam Asghari‘s ex-girlfriend is weighing in on him getting engaged to Britney Spears.
While out and about in Los Angeles on Friday (September 17), Mayra Verónica was asked by photographers how she feels about the 27-year-old actor and personal trainer getting engaged to the 39-year-old pop star.
“I feel great. I feel very happy for them,” the 41-year-old model and singer shared with TMZ. “He hit the jackpot!”
“She hit the jackpot too, though,” Mayra said of Britney. “He’s extremely supportive. He’s a really, really supportive guy, and after all the s–t she’s been through, that’s what she needs.”

Wack 100 is at it again. The notorious manager for Ray J and Blueface claims he is in possession of a second Kim Kardashian and Ray J sex tape. But he doesn’t plan to release it to anyone but Kanye West.
“Kanye, holla at me, bro,” he said while speaking with “The Bootleg Kev Podcast.” “We got part two on the laptop and it’s never been seen. We’d love for you to have it. It’d be a great, personal private NFT.”
Wack claims the explicit tape, which dates back over a decade, was longer and “more graphic and better than the first one.”
Wack said he would give the unreleased tape to Kanye and not charge him since he has four children with Kim. “I would never give it to anybody but Kanye ’cause it’s the mother of his children,” he said. “Because it’s Kanye, I probably would give it to Kanye.”
When asked if his client Ray J would feel the same way, Wack 100 said Ray J is a “great guy” and would probably agree. “I think we would probably gift that to him, if ever that day was to come. He got children by that woman.”
Added Wack, “That’s for him. We can’t put that out there in the world like that. It’d be disrespectful.”
In 2007, adult film studio Vivid Entertainment paid a reported $1 million to acquire rights to the original video tape, which was shot in October 2002 while Kim and her then-boyfriend Ray J were on vacation in Mexico. The film, entitled Kim Kardashian Superstar, reportedly netted $100 million in 10 years.

LeVar Burton Is No Longer Interested In Hosting ‘Jeopardy’: It Wasn’t The Thing I Wanted After All!
The ride to ‘Jeopardy‘ has ended for LeVar Burton!
Actor, host, and producer, LeVar Burton, 64, best known for hosting Reading Rainbow on PBS, is retiring his request to host the hit game show, Jeopardy.
In a recent interview, Burton expressed that he was no longer interested in the role because it was not what he wanted after all. He says,
“The crazy thing is that when you set your sights on something, they say be careful of what you wish for, because what I found out is that it wasn’t the thing that I wanted after all. What I wanted was to compete. I mean, I wanted the job, right, but then, when I didn’t get it, it was, like ‘Well, okay, what’s next?’ The opportunities that have come my way as a result of not getting that gig, I couldn’t have dreamt it up. If you had given me a pen and paper and said, ‘Well, so what do you want this to really look like?’ If it doesn’t include ‘Jeopardy,’ I wouldn’t have been this generous to myself.”
Burton, who hosted the show from July 26-30, became a fan favorite after campaigning for the position on social media. On initially wanting the role Burton said,
“I made it public that I wanted it for myself, that it made sense to me, and they were all about it. It made as much sense to them as it did to me. And, so, they wanted it for me as much as I wanted it.”
The show went on to permanently select former Executive Producer Mike Richards over Burton as the host. However, he was eventually let go for the sexist comments, “Booth Ho,” “Boothistute,” and “Boothslut” of his executive assistant Beth Triffon.
Burton starred as a guest host from July 26-30, 2021. Although Jeopardy is no longer in his future, the former Star Trek actor says there is another TV opportunity in the future it just has to be the right one for him.

Rumors of Bow Wow fathering a son spread last year. The father confirmed himself as having two kids in one of his songs and later shared his youngest child’s name with fans. Bow Wow uploaded several pictures of Stone on his Instagram page. Some of the recording artist’s supporters now point out that such photos have been removed from Shad’s platform.

“Due to scheduling challenges around taping the reunion of ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ in a timely manner, Bravo confirmed there will not be a reunion for this season,” a spokesperson for the network tells Page Six.
“It’s disappointing to not be able to bring the cast back together, but we are happy to have ended on such a high note with the finale, and are now shifting our focus to next season.”
When asked how the women reacted to the news, we were told, “They reluctantly understood.”
“It would just be so long since the finale,” the source continued. “[It] makes no sense to have a reunion 2 months later so they understand that part, but they are disappointed.”
The “RHONY” reunion special is an eagerly awaited clearinghouse for drama accrued over the just-wrapped season of the show.
In July, Page Six reported that Sonja Morgan, Leah McSweeney, Ramona Singer, Eboni K. Williams and Luann de Lesseps had been set to film the Season 13 reunion on Aug. 5 but were “told that the taping is on hold until at least September amid a decline in ratings.”
The show’s 13th season was divisive among fans, with one July episode the lowest-rated one ever, according to the Daily Mail, pulling just 764,000 live viewers. A source told the UK publication at the time that the show’s stars had been told they would not resume filming again until early 2022 — months behind schedule.

Hillsong Church founder Brian Houston has stepped down from his position on the board ahead of his upcoming court case in Australia.
The Global Senior Pastor, 67, confirmed the news in an email message to Hillsong congregants on Friday, obtained by PEOPLE.
"I also wanted to let you know that I've made a decision to step aside from my role on the Hillsong Church boards that oversee the governance of our operations. I did this so that these boards can function to their fullest capacity during this season. This doesn't change my role as Global Senior Pastor. I thought it was important to let our church family know in the interests of transparency, and I wanted you to hear it from me directly," Houston wrote.
Houston has been accused of covering up abuse allegations against his father, late preacher Frank Houston.
It was previously confirmed Australian authorities began investigating the Hillsong founder in 2019 after receiving "reports a 67-year-old man had knowingly concealed information relating to child sexual offenses," according to an August police statement.
"Police will allege in court [Houston] knew information relating to the sexual abuse of a young male in the 1970s and failed to bring that information to the attention of police," the statement continued. He is expected in a Sydney court on Oct. 5.
In a previous statement to the Associated Press, Houston said the "charges have come as a shock to me." "I vehemently profess my innocence and will defend these charges, and I welcome the opportunity to set the record straight," he added.
Australian officials contended in 2015 that Hillsong leaders became aware of the allegations in 1999, but did not share that information with police.
Frank Houston later confessed to the abuse allegations prior to his death in 2004 at 82.
FBI And Local Police Searching For Brian Laundrie, Fiancé Of Gabby Petito, In Wildlife Preserve!
The FBI and local police are now searching for Brian Laundrie. He is considered a person of interest in the investigation of his missing fiancé. 22-year-old Gabby Petito went missing last month while the two were on a cross-country trip.
Laundrie’s family contacted the FBI on Friday to tell them they had not seen the 23-year-old since Tuesday.
“For six days, the North Port Police Department and the FBI have been pleading with the family to contact investigators regarding Brian’s Fiancé Gabby Petito,” North Port police said in a statement. “Friday is the first time they have spoken with investigators in detail.”
The department expressed understanding for the community’s frustration in the statement, saying they are frustrated too. Laundrie is not wanted for a crime, but police are now working the case as a “multiple missing person” investigation.
CNN reports that officials are now looking for Laundrie in a county park located in Sarasota County. They are focusing the search on the Carlton Reserve, where his family believes he went earlier this week.
