#RHOA: NeNe Leakes Says Husband Is ‘Transitioning To The Other Side’ Amid Cancer Battle!
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum NeNe Leakes was recently recorded telling patrons of her Atlanta lounge, The Linnethia, that husband Gregg Leakes could possibly be losing his battle with cancer.
In footage obtained by It’s OnSite, Leakes, 53, is seen addressing customers who called her “rude” for not acknowledging a birthday in the crowd, leading the reality star to share her personal pain.
“My husband is transitioning to the other side,” she told the room before turning to acknowledge those who called her out.
“You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now. We walked in this lounge because we had to walk in this lounge because this is our business. So, when people approach and say, ‘you’re rude because you don’t want to say happy birthday,’ my husband is at home dying. I don’t want to say ‘happy birthday,’ okay?”
Gregg, 67, was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2018, but it went into remission after treatment. In June, however, NeNe confirmed that his cancer returned.
“If you’ve ever been around somebody who’s had cancer before, he’s different,” she shared at the time. “He’s different.”
“I’d love for everybody to pray for Gregg, that would be beautiful. Pray for his strength,” NeNe said, adding, “And pray for me too.
They first married in 1997 and divorced in 2011 before remarrying in 2013.

#MusicNews: H.E.R. to Make Acting Debut in 'The Color Purple' Movie Musical!
H.E.R. — the Oscar-winning singer-songwriter behind hits like "Best Part" and "Focus" — is in final negotiations to make her feature film acting debut in The Color Purple movie musical.
Warner Bros. is behind the feature adaptation of the Tony-winning Broadway musical, itself an adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning 1982 novel by Alice Walker, on which the Oscar-nominated Steven Spielberg-directed 1985 movie was based. The story centers on a woman named Celie Harris and tracks her life-long struggles as an African American woman living in the South during the early 1900s.
H.E.R. will play Squeak, who, in the musical, goes from a juke joint waitress to an aspiring singer. (Rae Dawn Chong played the role in the original Spielberg feature.)
Blitz Bazawule, the filmmaker behind the Beyoncé-fronted Black Is King, is set to direct the fresh take on the musical. Marcus Gardley penned the screenplay, adapted from Marsha Norman’s book and Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray’s score.
The movie is in pre-production with casting beginning to come together and chemistry reads happening now. Sources close to the production note that casting and creative decisions are being made to bring the story and its themes to a new generation of viewers. Along with H.E.R. — who sources say is working with filmmakers to possibly perform a new original song for the movie musical adaptation — In The Heights star Corey Hawkins joined the film this week.
Oprah Winfrey, who had her feature acting debut in Spielberg’s The Color Purple and earned an Oscar nomination, is producing via her Harpo Films banner with Spielberg under his Amblin Entertainment. Scott Sanders and Quincy Jones, both of whom were behind the Broadway musical, will also produce. Walker, Rebecca Walker, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Carla Gardini, and Mara Jacobs executive producing.
Warners has set a release date of December 20, 2023.
The Color Purple will be a reunion of sorts for H.E.R. and Warner Bros. During this year’s Oscar ceremony, the artist took home the best original song award for "Fight For You" featured in the studio’s Judas and the Black Messiah. H.E.R., whose real name is Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, broke out with EP H.E.R. Volume 1 and then 2017’s self-titled H.E.R., which was nominated for multiple Grammys, winning two, including best R&B album. Most recently, she released her debut full-length album Back of My Mind.
She is repped by CAA and MBK Entertainment.
#HipHopNews: Kanye West Claims Universal Music Group Released 'Donda' Without His Approval!
Kanye West doesn't seem pleased with the rollout of his latest album, Donda.
Just hours after Donda arrived on streaming services Sunday morning (Aug. 29), the 44-year-old rapper and fashion mogul claimed on social media that the oft-delayed album was released without his approval by Universal Music Group, the parent company of Def Jam Recordings.
The Donda track "Jail pt 2," featuring DaBaby, was originally unavailable when the album first appeared on streaming services Sunday morning, but became available later in the afternoon. In a now-deleted Instagram post from early Sunday, West shared screenshots of text messages saying the track was being held up because of clearance issues from DaBaby.
During Ye's third large-scale listening event for Donda at Chicago's Soldier Field on Aug. 26, it was revealed that Jay-Z's verse on "Jail" had been replaced by a new one from DaBaby, who has been under fire for making homophobic and misogynistic comments at Rolling Loud Miami in July. Fans were pleased to learn Sunday that Jay's verse had been reinstated on the original "Jail."
Donda, Kanye's 10th album, was first due on July 23 via G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam following his first large-scale listening event inside Atlanta's Mercedes Benz Stadium, but then the project experienced multiple delays. Named after the rapper's mom who died in 2007, Donda comes nearly two years after his ninth studio album, Jesus Is King, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
In addition to Jay-Z and DaBaby, Donda also features numerous high-profile collaborations, including The Weeknd and Lil Baby (“Hurricane”), Travis Scott (“Praise God”), Young Thug and Pop Smoke (“Tell the Vision”), Kid Cudi (“Moon”), Pusha T, Roddy Ricch and Ariana Grande (“Donda”), and mor
Shaq gave up $40 million Reebok deal because an old lady called him a ‘motherf–ker’!
Shaquille O’Neal says his “best” business story is the time he walked away from a $40 million Reebok sneaker deal.
While on the “Full Send” podcast on Thursday, the four-time NBA champion recalled cutting ties with the brand he repped throughout his playing career after “a lady ripped me a new a–hole while leaving the arena one day.”
O’Neal said the woman called him a “motherf–ker” for charging young kids so much money for shoes.
“I had $2,000 in my pocket. I said, ‘Lady I don’t make the prices. Here you go, and she smacked the money out of my hand, [and said], ‘Why don’t you motherf–kers make a shoe that’s affordable?'”
The scolding was a moment of realization for O’Neal, who decided to turn down his $40 million, 5-year deal with Reebok.
Warning: Graphic Language
“I was like, ‘You know what, she’s right.’ So that day, I cut ties with Reebok and started my own brand,” he recalled. “I said keep the money… this ain’t right. I’ll still wear the shoes I wear during the season, but I’ll be looking to do my own thing. So, I started the Shaq brand.
“I went to my favorite store, Walmart, and we did a deal. I was in all stores and my price point for the shoes was $29-$19 and since then we sold over 400 million pairs. It’s not kids that don’t want to wear $20 shoes, they don’t want to wear shoes that look like they cost $20.”
There was no bad blood between O’Neal and Reebok after he turned them down. He said he brought along designers from Reebok with him to join his Walmart deal.
O’Neal’s relationship with Reebok began in 1992, when he signed a $15 million multi-year deal with the brand. He went on to launch his popular Reebok Shaq Attaq and Shaqnosis shoes — and sported Reebok throughout his entire NBA career.
Earlier this year, O’Neal was part of a mega deal with Reebok, after the brand’s sale to Authentic Brands Group (ABG), in which he has owned shares in since 2015.
Sarah Paulson Admits 'Regret' About Playing Linda Tripp in a Fat Suit for American Crime Story 'Impeachment'!
Sarah Paulson has been known to go to great lengths to get into character.
However, the Golden Globe and Emmy-winning actress, 46, has admitted that she has some regrets about wearing a fat suit to portray Linda Tripp in Impeachment: American Crime Story.
"It's very hard for me to talk about this without feeling like I'm making excuses," she prefaced to The Los Angeles Times in an interview this week.
"There's a lot of controversy around actors and fat suits, and I think that controversy is a legitimate one. I think fat phobia is real. I think to pretend otherwise causes further harm," Paulson continued. "And it is a very important conversation to be had."
She looked unrecognizable in her prosthetic makeup, teased blonde wig, and chunky round glasses, when she revealed a first glimpse at her portrayal of Tripp in November. Paulson stars in the third installment of Ryan Murphy's true crime anthology series as the former U.S. civil servant whose secret recordings of her phone calls with Monica Lewinsky (Beanie Feldstein) exposed the then-intern's affair with President Bill Clinton (Clive Owen).
Paulson has since faced backlash for her physical portrayal of Tripp. "Dear Hollywood, Can You Please Just Hire Actual Fat People to Play Fat Characters?" read the title of an op-ed that ran on Refinery29 in April, using the ACS role to point at Hollywood's larger issue of fat phobia.
"But that entire responsibility I don't think falls on the actor for choosing to do something that is arguably — and I'm talking about from the inside out — the challenge of a lifetime," Paulson added. "I do think to imagine that the only thing any actor called upon to play this part would have to offer is their physical self is a real reduction of the offering the actor has to make. I would like to believe that there is something in my being that makes me right to play this part. And that the magic of hair and makeup departments and costumers and cinematographers that has been part of moviemaking, and suspension of belief, since the invention of cinema. Was I supposed to say no [to the part]? This is the question."
The Ratched star admitted that she has "regret" about donning the fat suit, adding that she won't make the same mistake twice. "I think the thing I think about the most is that I regret not thinking about it more fully," she shared.
"And that is an important thing for me to think about and reflect on. I also know it's a privileged place to be sitting and thinking about it and reflecting on it, having already gotten to do it, and having had an opportunity that someone else didn't have. You can only learn what you learn when you learn it," Paulson said. "Should I have known? Abso-f—ing-lutely. But I do now. And I wouldn't make the same choice going forward."
She previously intended to forego the fat suit altogether to play Tripp, who died at age 70 of pancreatic cancer in April 2020. "I'm going to gain some weight to play her, and I don't want to wear a suit because I think it will feel very strange," Paulson said at the New Yorker Festival in October 2019.
"I don't feel like it would be a great idea for me to come to work putting on some kind of faux suit and just all mucked up and not being able to move my face nor feel the feelings that she [Tripp] might have been feeling," Paulson explained.

Hurricane Ida makes landfall in Louisiana, With Destruction!
Hurricane Ida slammed into Louisiana on Sunday with monster Category 4 winds so powerful they reversed the course of the Mississippi River just outside of New Orleans.
The colossal hurricane turned into one of the most powerful storms in US history within 24 hours over the weekend — and struck exactly 16 years to the day of deadly Hurricane Katrina.
Ida stormed ashore around the barrier island of Grand Isle, making official landfall in the offshore-oil town of Port Fourchon around 11:55 a.m. local time, about 40 miles west of where Category 3 Katrina hit Aug. 29, 2005, the National Hurricane Center said.
“Quite frankly, if you had to draw up the worst possible path for a hurricane in Louisiana, it would be something very, very close to what we’re seeing,” Gov. John Bel Edwards told The Associated Press on Sunday.
“The storm surge is just tremendous. We can see the roofs have been blown off of the port buildings in many places,” he said.
At the time of Sunday’s landfall, Ida had maximum sustained winds of about 150 mph. A storm is considered Category 5, the most powerful, at 157 mph.
Its winds were so ferocious that officials detected a “negative flow’’ to the Mississippi River in one part of the state, according to a US Army Corps of Engineers official.
A supervisor with the US Geological Survey told CNN that the “extremely uncommon’’ flow reversal was seen in Belle Chasse, a community about 20 miles south of New Orleans. The storm tied for the fifth strongest hurricane to come ashore in the country based on wind speed.
Katrina left at least 1,833 dead and millions homeless along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama — and experts warned Ida was an even more fierce weather phenomenon.
The National Weather Service said Sunday that a “life-threatening storm surge” had already impacted most of the state’s coastline, with the seawater predicted to rise as high as 15 feet in Port Fourchon.
Ida was set to travel across the southeast Louisiana wetlands and then pummel New Orleans and Baton Rouge starting late Sunday. Forecasters predicted that it would wind down to a Category 1 or 2 storm as it moved inland to Baton Rouge.
Hurricane Ida had nearly doubled in strength in just 24 hours over the weekend, jumping from a 85 mph storm to a 150 mph storm, which meteorologists called “explosive intensification.”
The storm had grown in strength so quickly before making landfall that New Orleans officials said that there was no time to order a mandatory evacuation of its 390,000 residents.
Those who stayed behind were told to prepare for long power outages amid the sweltering heat.
About 300,000 customers in the state were already experiencing power outages as of Sunday afternoon, according to PowerOutage.US.
Edwards warned that the storm “is going to be a very serious test for our levee systems.
“And it comes at a time that, quite frankly, it presents some very challenging difficulties for us with the hospitals being so full of COVID patients,” Edwards added on CNN.
Edwards said he expected generators to keep the state’s hospitals running through the storm but feared that the Ida’s path of destruction would impact staffing already strained by its influx of COVID-19 patients.
“Quite frankly we’re concerned, as we have been for a long time about staffing, but you know, the storms have an impact on staffing, too, in terms of, do they have to evacuate with their family for some reason? Does their home remain habitable so that they can live at home and go to work?” Edwards said at a press briefing Sunday.
“And so we’ve got an awful lot of work to do, but we will have no higher priority than to make sure that our hospitals can remain in operation and functional.”
Video footage captured part of the roof atop the Lady of the Sea General Hospital in Galliano, La., blowing off amid the storm.
Edwards said the entirety of the state National Guard, more than 4,900 guardsmen, had been activated.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency also had recruited out-of-state crews, including a special emergency-response team from New York City, to help deal with the devastation.
Before the storm arrived in New Orleans, dangerous winds had already forced emergency medical services to suspend operations Sunday, NOLA.com reported.
Footage captured strong winds rip the roof off a building in Houma, La., and send it tumbling down the street, taking out a power line in the process.
A stretch of Highway 90 that runs along the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast was completely underwater, according to video shared on Twitter.
Neighboring states were already feeling effects from Ida, too.
Parts of Gulfport in Mississippi were underwater Sunday.
President Biden on Sunday said the federal government is ready to help impacted regions recover from the storm.
“We’re praying for the best and preparing for the worst,” Biden said.

Marlon Wayans to Star in Father-Daughter Halloween Comedy for Netflix!
Marlon Wayans is back in business with Netflix, as he's set to produce and star in an untitled father-daughter Halloween comedy for the streamer.
Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare) will direct from a script by Rob Rugan, Todd Berger, and John R. Morey, and Wayans will produce the film with Rick Alvarez under their Ugly Baby Productions banner along with Nathan Reimann, who previously worked with them on Sextuplets. Wadlow will also serve as an executive producer on the project.
The spooky adventure-comedy begins when a teenage girl accidentally unleashes an ancient and mischievous spirit on Halloween, causing decorations to come alive and wreak havoc. In order to save her town, she's forced to team up with the last person she'd want to -- her skeptical father (Wayans).
The untitled film will continue Netflix’s relationship with Wayans, who previously starred in and produced its 2019 comedy Sextuplets, in which he played all six main characters, and the 2017 time-loop rom-com Naked, which was a big help when it came to selecting photos for this article. Who knows, maybe Netflix sees this untitled Halloween movie as Wayans' chance to do a Hubie Halloween-type of family comedy, as I believe that Adam Sandler flick performed well on the service last October.
Though Wayans is best known for his comedic performances, I loved his dramatic turn in Requiem for a Dream and I looking forward to seeing him as Ted White, Aretha Franklin's first husband, in MGM's biopic Respect starring Jennifer Hudson. He most recently played Rashida Jones' husband in Sofia Coppola's Apple movie On the Rocks.
Wayans and Alvarez's Ugly Baby produced the NBC comedy Marlon, a pair of reality competition shows and Wayans' latest stand-up special on HBO Max in addition to the hit theatrical feature A Haunted House. Wayans and Ugly Baby are repped by WME, 3 Arts, and attorneys Kevin Yorn and Ryan Goodell of Morris Yorn.
Wadlow previously collaborated with Netflix on the Kevin James movie True Memoirs of an International Assassin. He also directed Cry Wolf, Never Back Down, Kick-Ass 2, Truth or Dare, and Blumhouse's Fantasy Island movie, while his writing credits include Bloodshot, the killer lion movie Prey, and the upcoming Magic 8-Ball movie. Wadlow also dabbled in television from time to time, having worked on Bates Motel, The Strain, and the recent reboot of Are You Afraid of the Dark? He's repped by UTA, Artists First, and attorney David Matlof.
Barry Hankerson Speaks Out About R.Kelly And Aaliyah’s Illegal Marriage: “I Was Upset”!
During an interview with The Rickey Smiley Show, Barry Hankerson addressed his involvement regarding Aaliyah’s music and his feelings about her illegal marriage to R. Kelly.
Hankerson called into the show on Thursday and said it wasn’t his plan to keep Aaliyah’s music off of streaming platforms. “To be honest with you, I had never decided for it not to be out. It is just circumstances where when we took the music down in 2012, [the] business had totally changed from records, CDs to streaming and streaming has been devastating to artists, small labels because you’re not making enough money to stay in business,” Hankerson said. He added that he had plans to launch a platform for the music but there wasn’t enough money to support the idea.
The manager and Blackground Records founder was also asked about R.Kelly and Aaliyah’s marriage. He recalled being very upset and added, “And really I found out, I wasn’t a hardcore criminal. I couldn’t kill nobody. So, I took it, I’m a Muslim, and I went to Minster Farrakhan and we just prayed about it, resolved ourselves to let God handle him. I think that’s what’s going on. Ain’t no sense in two lives getting destroyed.” Hankerson reportedly introduced his niece to R.Kelly when she was 12.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, Hankerson noted that he doesn’t keep up with R.Kelly’s trial and said he gets emotional when he learned about the details surrounding Aaliyah.
I just put a wall up to that. It’s just too emotional for me. It just brings back too many bad thoughts for my whole family. He impacted my whole family, you know. It’s just a bad thing. She was so sweet and so considerate and she loved to sing.”
Joséphine Baker to be first black woman to enter France's Panthéon Mausoleum!
France is awarding one of its highest honours to Joséphine Baker
American-born French performer Joséphine Baker will be entered into Paris' Panthéon mausoleum, making her the first black woman to receive the honour.
The government says Baker will be inducted into the monument in November.
The Panthéon is a burial place for celebrated French icons such as scientist Marie Curie and writer Victor Hugo.
Baker will be just the sixth woman to join some 80 national heroes.
Born in St Louis, Missouri in 1906, Baker rose to international stardom in the 1930s after moving to France to pursue a career in showbusiness.
She was also a resistance fighter for her adopted country France during World War Two, and had a role in the civil rights movement in the US.
Her induction into the Panthéon recognises her contribution to the performing arts and her courage in actively resisting Nazi Germany during the war.
While her body will remain buried in Monaco, she will be honoured on 30 November with a memorial with a plaque, one of her children, Claude Bouillon-Baker, told AFP news agency.
French President Emmanuel Macron approved Baker's induction after a campaign led by her family and a petition with about 38,000 signatures.
Baker's family had been requesting her induction since 2013, but only the president can approve entrants to the monument.
Thanking the president on Sunday, government minister Agnès Pannier-Runacher said Baker was "a great lady, who loved France".
One of the campaigners, Jennifer Guesdon, said the decision had raised the profile of Baker, who was "only known to some as an international star".
Baker received military honours for her role in the French resistance during World War Two
Baker enjoyed roaring success on the stage in the 1920s and 30s, wowing audiences with her provocative dance routines in Paris.
But it was her war-time work for the resistance that cemented her status in France, where she became a citizen after her marriage to industrialist Jean Lion in 1937.
Baker used her celebrity connections to gather information on German troop movements which she passed on, scribbled on musical scores.
Throughout her life, Baker was an outspoken anti-racism activist.
In 1963, she took part in the March on Washington alongside civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr, when he delivered his historic "I Have a Dream" speech.
Baker died in 1975 and received French military honours at her funeral.

California Teacher Spreads Delta Variant By Reading Aloud To Class Unmasked!
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that an unmasked and unvaccinated teacher has infected students with the Delta variant of COVID-19.
The unidentified teacher from a Marin County, California elementary school began experiencing coronavirus symptoms on May 19 but attributed them to allergies. The educator continued to work and read aloud to the class unmasked, even though the school required masks.
The teacher tested positive for the virus on May 21. Students, other staff members, parents, and siblings began reporting testing positive just two days later.
Of the teacher’s 24 students, 22 were tested for COVID-19, returning 12 positive results. All of the kids were too young to be vaccinated.
In total, 27 cases were identified, according to the CDC. 22 of the reported cases experienced symptoms, including cough, fever, headache, and sore throat. All students who were exposed and those who were infected were instructed to quarantine for 10 days.
“This outbreak of COVID-19 that originated with an unvaccinated teacher highlights the importance of vaccinating school staff members who are in close indoor contact with children ineligible for vaccination as schools reopen,” according to the CDC’s report.
All of the school’s staff members were vaccinated against the coronavirus except for the teacher who tested positive and one other staff member.

Evander Kane is now accusing his estranged wife of assault. He claims she punched him in the face multiple times throughout their relationship, and now, he’s obtained a temporary domestic violence restraining order against her.
According to TMZ Sports, court documents show Kane was granted a TRO earlier this month after he alleged that his estranged wife, Anna Kane, had been violent with him in the past.
In the docs, Kane claims that the physical altercations between them first began in 2019, about a year after they were married. Evander detailed that Anna got so upset during one argument she hit him “7-8 times in the face with her fist.”
Evander also described another incident that took place while Anna’s mother was visiting the couple in October 2020. Kane said his wife struck him in the face after an argument at that time.
Then in an incident in April of this year, Kane said Anna attacked him after going through his phone.
The 30-year-old San Jose Sharks player says Anna “started uncontrollably throwing things at me,” and then she punched and slapped him repeatedly in his head and face.
Evander was granted a temporary restraining order against Anna and will get a permanent one against her at a hearing scheduled for next month.
