Steve Martin, Selena Gomez and Martin Short for Variety - August 2021!
I’m old!” moans Selena Gomez, on the verge of laughter. “I’m going to be 29 tomorrow!” Gomez is spending the day before her birthday needling her castmates Steve Martin and Martin Short on Zoom. Before launching into a conversation about their generation-gap comedy “Only Murders in the Building,” she is establishing just how grand the gap is. “Do you remember when you were 29, Steve?” Short asks.
“Another lifetime,” Martin muses in a tone that suggests a familiar rhythm has just clicked on.
“Wondering if the Jerrys were going to win the war,” Short continues, invoking the nickname used for Germans in both World Wars.
It’s a moment of levity for three stars who may be separated by decades but share a readiness to riff. Gomez, who’s been acting since childhood, calls herself a “sponge” around her co-stars, who’ve been cutting up since the 1970s. “I’ll just ask them random questions. It means so much to me, and allows me to want to be as good as them,” she says.
Even Zooming in from different locations, the three stars have a spiky and ebullient chemistry, and Disney-operated streamer Hulu is leaning into their unlikely rapport. On “Only Murders in the Building,” which launches Aug. 31 and is the first show produced by “This Is Us” mega-producer Dan Fogelman under his deal with Disney’s 20th Television, the actors play a trio of curmudgeonly New Yorkers investigating a crime that took place in their apartment complex. There are narrative twists aplenty — but what may hook viewers first are two generations of actors. Martin, in his first-ever series regular role, plays a legend-in-his-mind actor, while Short, a familiar presence on recent TV shows including “The Morning Show” and sketch series “Maya & Marty,” takes on the role of a theatrical director whose career has stalled after a flop. Both stars, collaborators in projects like “Father of the Bride” and their ongoing live comedy tour, remain adept at deflating their characters’ pretensions. And Gomez, who’s been growing her audience since her days on the Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” is stepping out in a big way, applying megastar hauteur to a character who conceals her vulnerability, and her challenging personal history, behind a tough and unknowable exterior.
The combination provides a few ways in for potential viewers. “Certainly, the show is a huge opportunity, given the breadth of talent,” says Craig Erwich, Hulu’s chief of originals. “You have comedy icons Steve Martin and Martin Short, and then you have truly one of the biggest social media presences in Selena Gomez. The audience for this thing is very wide.”
Shows like “Only Murders” represent a bet on the future for Disney-controlled Hulu, a streamer with an evolving identity due to past ownership shifts. More adult-skewing than corporate sibling Disney Plus — Hulu’s signature show may for many viewers still be the Emmy-winning “The Handmaid’s Tale” — it has had success with original series but could soon lose licensed content from networks outside its corporate family as those networks funnel shows to their own proprietary services.
Erwich professes to be unruffled. “There’s going to be change in the future,” he says. “But I think we’re really well-positioned to navigate it. We have a massive content machine that will help us not just weather the storm but continue to be industry leaders that serve our viewers.”
“Only Murders” purposefully lacks some of the flash of other Hulu offerings, like the David E. Kelley-Nicole Kidman reunion “Nine Perfect Strangers,” a high-wattage soap. “I have no doubt that this will be a four-quadrant show,” says 20th Television head Karey Burke. “I believe the Hulu brand is very sophisticated, very classy, high-quality and really broad, and this checks all the boxes.” The show’s pleasure comes from the delicate needling of its central figures’ foibles, and from their methodical progress in their mystery and their lives. “I’ve played the show for people from my little sister to my grandparents, and they laugh when they need to laugh. They’re upset and confused when they need to be,” Gomez says. “It’s something that leaves you feeling intrigued, but not heavy and down and sad or stressed.”
The series serves both old- and new-school performers, combining a moody Manhattan tone with bleeding-edge concerns. The three leads, all true-crime junkies, end up collaborating on a podcast — also called “Only Murders in the Building” — to focus exclusively on crimes that take place where they live. They move in concentric circles around the case, growing closer in the process.
“I think it’s very hard to have to develop a bond in a show without being boring,” Martin says. “That’s what the show managed to do; as long as a story is churning along, and the relationships are sort of incidental, then they start to grow.” He pauses. “Let me ask you one quick question,” he says to this reporter. “So you’ve seen eight episodes. Do you have any idea who did it?”
For a show with a corpse at its center, “Only Murders” fits surprisingly well into a TV landscape recently defined by sweet-natured hits like “Schitt’s Creek” and “Ted Lasso,” series that embrace vulnerability and sensitivity. Fogelman, following up his smash “This Is Us,” says, “It’s a little quieter than you might expect. Steve and Marty’s characters are a little more heartbreaking than you might expect. That was my draw to the television series, personally — these characters finding connection in these relatively lonely lives.”
The new bonds help each break out of tired routines and out of their self-regard. “We’ve all been locked in our little workspaces, sheltering with our own core group of people,” says Fogelman. “And there’s been a lack of larger connection — even predating the pandemic.” Here, the worst sort of crime ends up breaking familiar patterns.

#HipHopNews: Drake Reached Out To Lizzo After ‘Rumors’ Lyric!
Lizzo’s hotline was blinging after she name-checked Drake.
The Grammy-winning artist reveals that she heard from her Canadian crush after she shouted him out on her latest single “Rumors.” “No, I ain’t f**k Drake yet,” Lizzo raps on the Cardi B-assisted track.
During her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday, Lizzo confirmed that the 6 God reached out to her after hearing the racy lyric, but she remained coy about what exactly he said.
“Actually, I have heard from Drake. But that’s all I’m gonna say on that,” she said.
Lizzo also joked that Niall Horan, who was guest hosting the show, was in the original lyrics. “OK, so the original line was, ‘No, I ain’t f**k Niall yet.’ The label said it was a little bit provocative. So I changed it to Drake, a safer bet,” she told the former One Direction member.
When asked if Drake had heard “Rumors,” Lizzo responded, “I think he’s heard the number four song in the country.”
After the song dropped earlier this month, Lizzo tried to shoot her shot with Drake on Twitter, writing, “Hey big head @Drake.”
In a previous interview with Apple Music, Lizzo revealed why she decided to name-drop Drizzy. “I just thought it would be so funny to say,” she said. “I have a small relationship with him. He’s very cool.”
Awww, Meet Keziah! Fantasia And Kendall Taylor Give First Look At Their 3-Month-Old Daughter!
Singer Fantasia and husband Kendall Taylor decided to share a first look at their 3-month-old daughter Keziah London Taylor and fans are smitten with their baby girl.
Keziah made her big debut on her own Instagram page on Tuesday. The Cuties Baby Care endorsed tot, all dressed up with nowhere to go but to get her milk, was introduced with the caption, “Finally! Mommy and Daddy Let Me Come Out And Play.” After that, more and more adorable images and videos of Keziah were shared, including on the pages of her mom and dad. Their daughter joins her older siblings, Dallas, 9, and Zion, 20, from past relationships of Fantasia’s, and Kendall’s son, Trey, who is in his mid-20s.
She seems to be growing well and is surrounded by a lot of love! Keziah’s beginnings weren’t as carefree, though. When Fantasia was just six months along in her pregnancy, she started to experience contractions and had to enter into the hospital. “My baby girl thinks she’s missing something out here, but she’s got to stay in here a little longer,” the singer said when sharing the news of her hospitalization in April. She was released soon after.
Keziah would eventually be delivered early, born May 23, and have to stay in the NICU for about a month. But those scary moments were all worth it for the couple, who after struggling to conceive for some time and being told Fantasia wouldn’t be able to do make it happen naturally, welcomed their miracle baby after leaning on their faith.
“This is a three-year journey that we’re on,” she said on The Tamron Hall show late last year. “We said let God be God and we’re going to sit back and see what happens. And truly…I kid you not, I forgot about it. I stopped following the tracker…I was just like ‘Forget it!’ And then I woke up one night and when I was like, ‘something’s different.’ I took the test. I took six tests! I threw the test at him I was so excited.”
“I strictly heard God tell me that He was going to make this happen,” Kendall added. “I remember sitting in that office and my wife and the doctor are going through all these scenarios and I’m sitting back. I just remember saying, ‘I just don’t feel like that’s our way. I’m telling you it’s going to happen naturally,’ and I stood on that.
He added, “It just increased our faith even more.”
As mentioned, Keziah is Fantasia and Kendall’s first child together. The pair married in 2015.
And now THE SHADE! ‘Jeopardy!’ Execs Reportedly Never Considered Levar Burton For Permanent Hosting Gig!
LeVar Burton previously expressed his interest in stepping up as the host of Jeopardy! after the longtime host, Alex Trebek, passed away from pancreatic cancer.
More than 272,000 people have signed a Change.org petition with hopes to see Burton host the beloved game show.
“Between hosting 21 seasons of the educational Reading Rainbow, playing the brainiac engineer Geordi La Forge on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and filling the role of Kunta Kinte in the ever-important mini-series Roots, LeVar Burton has inspired and shaped the minds of several generations of trivia-loving nerds,” the petition reads.
“This petition is to show Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. and producers Mike Richards and Harry Friedman just how much love the public has for Burton,” it continues, “and how much we’d all love to see him as the next host of Jeopardy!”
However, this wasn’t enough to sway studio executives. TMZ reports that Sony Studios didn’t think he was the “right fit” and are considering him for other roles.
The petition came after Burton garnered positive reviews as a guest host. But Mike Richards ultimately gave himself the role and stepped down after he was blasted for the process and a previous discrimination lawsuit.
Following the controversy, a 2018 interview of Trebek surfaced online where he suggested CNN legal analyst Laura Coates as a potential replacement host.

Ron Jeremy is facing more legal trouble as sex abuse allegations against him continue to mount.
The 67-year-old adult film star has been indicted on more than 30 sexual assault counts involving 21 victims dating back to 1996. The alleged victims range in age from 15 to 51.
Jeremy appeared in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday where he pleaded not guilty to 12 counts of forcible rape, seven counts of forcible oral copulation, six counts of sexual battery by restraint, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, two counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious or asleep person and one count each of lewd act upon a child under the age of 14 or 15, sodomy by use of force and assault with intent to commit rape.
"Far too often, survivors of sexual assault suffer in isolation,” Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement. "We must ensure that survivors have all options available to help with recovery, including trauma-informed services for healing and support to report such crimes."
Jeremy was arrested in June 2020 and charged with multiple counts of sexual assault. He pleaded not guilty. Jeremy was hit with additional charges in October 2020 and pleaded not guilty again. The case remained under investigation and more women came forward about his alleged abuse over a 23-year span.
Sexual misconduct allegations against Jeremy were rumored for years before his arrest but ramped up amid the #MeToo era. He has repeatedly maintained his innocence.
Jeremy is due in court for a pretrial conference on Oct. 12. He remains behind bars as he's been unable to post his $6.6 million bail.
Sha’Carri Richardson Sparks Controversy After Liking Shady Tweet About Jamaicans!
On Aug. 21, the highly talked-about track star, Sha’ Carri Richardson, returned to the race track for the 100-meter run at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon and placed 9th.
The 21-year-old pulled out of the 200-meter race shortly after but continued to be in good spirits on social media. She wrote Aug. 23,
“Only way from 9th is up! [praying hands Emojis]”
As her post-race interview made its way around the internet, many spectators noticed Jamaican runner Shelly-Ann Fraser-Price, who placed second in the race, laughing and smiling while walking past Sha’Carri Richardson.
After the race, Sha’Carri Richardson was spotted liking a tweet that compared Shelly-Ann Fraser-Price to rapper Lil Wayne.
Days later, Richardson was caught liking a shady tweet about the Jamaican community. It reads,
“Not y’all Jamaicans still talking s*** when y’all gotta walk barefoot to your coconut stand everyday for a living”
Earlier this week, a local hotel in Montego Bay offered Richardson a one-week stay to enjoy some time in Jamaica. The Director of the Takuma Boutique Hotel, Delroy Allen, said the offer was in “the spirit of goodwill” to show that he understands athletes’ challenges.
Richardson seemingly responded by posting a series of pictures from a previous trip to Jamaica with the caption,“been there, done that”
What are your thoughts about Sha’Carri Richardson’s latest comments
Letitia Wright Hospitalized After Stunt Rig Accident While Shooting ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’!
Letitia Wright has been hospitalized with minor injuries after a stunt rig accident on the set of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
“Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’ She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon,” a spokesperson for Marvel said in a statement to Variety.
The film shoot was happening overnight in Boston, while the production for the “Black Panther” sequel is based in Atlanta. There is currently no impact to the movie’s shooting schedule.
In the first “Black Panther” movie, Wright was introduced as Shuri, the genius inventor and younger sister to T’Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman. She also appeared in the MCU team-up films “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.”
Production on “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” directed by Ryan Coogler, began in June 2021. Plot and cast details are being kept under wraps, but it’s expected that the main cast members Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba and Angela Bassett will return for the sequel to the Oscar-nominated movie.
Variety exclusively revealed last month that “I May Destroy You” creator and star Michaela Coel joined the cast in an unknown role. Additionally, it was revealed last week that Dominique Thorne, who will play the up-and-coming superhero Ironheart in her own Disney Plus TV series, will be introduced in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” ahead of her TV debut.
“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will come to theaters on July 8, 2022
Delta Airlines will charge unvaccinated employees $200 per month!
CEO Ed Bastian said that all employees who have been hospitalized for the virus in recent weeks were not fully vaccinated.
The airline said Wednesday that it also will stop extending pay protection to unvaccinated workers who contract COVID-19 on Sept. 30, and will require unvaccinated workers to be tested weekly beginning Sept. 12, although Delta will cover the cost. They will have to wear masks in all indoor company settings.
Delta stopped short of matching United Airlines, which will require employees to be vaccinated starting Sept. 27 or face termination. However, the $200 monthly surcharge, which starts in November, may have the same effect.
“This surcharge will be necessary to address the financial risk the decision to not vaccinate is creating for our company,” Bastian said in a memo to employees.
The surcharge will only apply to employees who don’t get vaccinated and won’t be levied for spouses or dependents, a Delta spokeswoman said.
Delta is self-insured and sets premiums for its plans, which are administered by UnitedHealthcare. The company spokeswoman had said the average hospital stay costs $40,000, contradicting the figure that Bastian used in his memo, and Delta later said both figures reflected a range of the average bill.
Bastian said that 75% of Delta employees are vaccinated, up from 72% in mid-July. He said the aggressiveness of the leading strain of the virus “means we need to get many more of our people vaccinated, and as close to 100% as possible.”
“I know some of you may be taking a wait-and-see approach or waiting for full (Food and Drug Administration) approval,” he told employees. “With this week’s announcement that the FDA has granted full approval for the Pfizer vaccine, the time for you to get vaccinated is now.”
A growing number of companies including Chevron Corp. and drugstore chain CVS announced they will require workers to get vaccinated after Monday’s FDA decision.
United and Delta already require new hires to be vaccinated. Two smaller carriers, Hawaiian and Frontier, have said they will require either vaccination or regular testing for current employees. Other major U.S. airlines, including American and Southwest, said Wednesday that they are encouraging employees to get vaccinated but have not required it.
Delta’s requirement for weekly testing of unvaccinated employees will start Sept. 12, and the requirement that the unvaccinated wear masks indoors takes effect immediately.
Fueled by the now-dominant delta variant of the virus, new reported cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. have topped 150,000 a day, the highest level since late January. Nationally the rate of increase has slowed, but the variant threatens to overwhelm emergency rooms in parts of the country.
On Tuesday, Gov. Brian Kemp of Georgia, where Delta is based, ordered members of the National Guard to 20 hospitals across the state to help deal with a surge that is larger than the national average.
Southwest, Spirit and Frontier have blamed the rise of the delta variant for a slowdown in customers booking flights, and U.S. air travel remains down more than 20% from pre-pandemic 2019.
In his message to employees Bastian referred to the fast-spreading strain of the virus as B.1.617.2, which is used by scientists to identify its lineage. The Delta CEO’s effort to avoid using the more commonly known “delta variant” did not go unnoticed and B.1.617.2 began trending on Twitter Wednesday.
Kanye West’s Third Donda Listening Party Reportedly Won’t Require Vaccines or Negative COVID Tests for Attendees!
Still Going? Kanye West’s Third Donda Listening Party Reportedly Won’t Require Vaccines or Negative COVID Tests for Attendees
New details about Kanye West’s third Donda listing party have been shared and some fans may not be here for it.
According to PEOPLE Magazine, Kanye is not requiring fans to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide proof of a negative test to attend his next Donda event. The show, slated for Thursday at Soldier Field in Chicago, was originally expected a capacity of 63,000, but will only admit 38,000 fans this time. As the news site notes, Chicago Park District spokeswoman Michele Lemons said the reduced capacity emphasizes the city’s commitment to health and safety protocol amid the ongoing outbreak of the coronavirus.
“Kanye West’s performance is one of many examples that show that Chicago can be open and safe at the same time,” Lemons said in a statement, The Chicago Tribune reported. “We have worked with Soldier Field on COVID-19 safety protocols, as we have other venues including Wrigley and Guaranteed Rate Fields, and feel this event can be safely held with the proper mitigation efforts in place.”
Kayne West is getting ready for his big listening party at Soldier Field Thursday — and making himself at home… literally.
He’s having a replica of the South Side house he lived in while growing up and apparently it’s going to be built right smack in the center of the stadium.
Ticket prices for his latest big event range from $150 to $300 through Ticketmaster.
Ex- NY Giants Luke Petitgout arrested for attacking Carbone staff, pal pulls gun!
Troubled former New York Giants player Luke Petitgout — who served a month in jail for harassing his wife and her date in 2015 and was found in possession of drugs in 2016 — was arrested at scenery eatery Carbone in Miami early Sunday morning after a fist fight with waitstaff that led to his friend, James Philip Bruner, pulling a gun on staff at the swanky Italian joint, according to police reports.
The arrest affidavit provided to Page Six by Miami Beach police states that according to “witnesses and victims,” both Petitgout and his pal “were causing a disturbance with the restaurant’s staff, preventing them from commencing their closing procedures. An argument ensued with both defendants and the restaurant staff, which consequently became physical.”
Three victims claimed to cops that Petitgout “struck” them “with a closed fist” during the melee, while another stated that he “purposefully pushed him in the midst of the altercation.”
One staffer at the restaurant — whose original New York location is beloved of Rihanna and the Hadid sisters, among many other stars — alleged that after being hit “with a closed fist,” by Petitgout during the brawl, Bruner “produced a firearm and pointed it directly at him.”
According to the report, a witness recorded the fight on her cellphone.
The ex-Giant’s pal pulled a gun on waitstaff at Miami hotspot Carbone during the melee.
Both Petitgout and Bruner were arrested and taken to the station where they were processed and sent to Turner Giulford Knight Correct Center.
Petitgout has a long history of run-ins with the law. He served time in prison in 2015 after allegedly slapping his estranged wife, Jennifer Petitgout, and punching her companion John Constantinides while the pair were on a date at a Midtown lounge. He was convicted only of harassment and acquitted of attempted assault following a trial in Manhattan Criminal Court.
Petitgout was being held Tuesday evening at the Bergen County Jail on $50,000 bail, according to sheriff’s office records. He was charged with sexual assault with force and simple assault.
In 2016, he was given one-year probation and anger management for assaulting his ex-wife in a separate incident that involved him allegedly sexually assaulting and choking her.
He had also been arrested on his wedding anniversary in 2013 for smashing his ex-wife’s head with her purse and throwing her out of a car. The charges were dropped.
In 2016, he was pulled over by cops in New Jersey while allegedly intoxicated and with drugs including cocaine, amphetamines, steroids, marijuana and ethylone (a psychedelic amphetamine designer drug), according to law enforcement at the time. He was sentenced to three years of probation.
Notre Dame grad Petitgout played for the Giants from 1999 to 2006 before moving on to the Tampa Bay Bucaneers, where he was suspended for steroid use. He played for the Buccs for a single season.
Carbone declined to comment on the incident.
There was no response from Petitgout’s last known lawyer at press time.
Zoë Kravitz clutches flowers on upstate getaway with Channing Tatum!
Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum continue to fuel relationship rumors, as the potential pair have been snapped together for the third time in a week.
This time around, the “Big Little Lies” actress, 32, and the “Magic Mike” star, 41, were spotted in upstate New York exiting a supermarket with a few household items, as Kravitz clutched two bouquets of flowers.
Monday’s dreary weather called for a casual look from the pair, with Tatum wearing a charcoal Carhartt T-shirt, brown pants and sneakers while Kravitz sported a white blouse, blue jeans and a pair of practical Mary Janes.
Both stars were masked up for the visit to the store, where they purchased toilet tissue, a roasting pan and other items for their upstate retreat.
Upon exiting the store, they piled their purchases into the back of a navy blue SUV. Tatum then hopped in the driver’s seat while the “High Fidelity” star made her way to the passenger’s side.
Monday’s sighting comes days after the unofficial pair were spotted enjoying each other’s company in NYC.
Last Wednesday, Kravitz was snapped riding with Channing on a black BMX bike through the East Village. Days later, photographers snapped the pair grabbing iced coffees together, in the company of a different BMX bike.
The two actors have been photographed together three times within the last week.
Whispers of a relationship between the two actors began in January 2021, soon after Kravitz filed for divorce from her husband, Karl Glusman, after less than two years of marriage.
And paps aren’t the only ones excited about the pair: Page Six reported this week that one group of moms in Williamsburg are trading tips via text for keeping tabs on Kravitz and Tatum in hopes of bumping into them.
Kravitz and Tatum reportedly met on the set of the upcoming thriller — and Kravitz’s directorial debut — “Pussy Island,” in which he plays the lead.
Former Congress Candidate Kimberly Klacik Suing Candace Owens for $20 Million!
Conservative commentator Candace Owens is being sued for defamation by former Maryland GOP congressional candidate Kimberly Klacik.
Klacik is seeking $20 million in damages over Owens making false claims against her in an Instagram video in late June. In the clip, Owens accused Klacik of tax fraud, money laundering, and campaign fraud. She also claimed Klacik was a “madame” who found strippers to work at a nightclub owned by her husband, Jeffrey Klacik. Before filing the suit, Klacik says she reached out to Owens multiple times to remove the video to no avail.
Jacob Frenkel, the attorney representing Klacik, called Owens claims “baseless character assassination.”
“The defendant chose to use her huge social media platform to attack a respected Baltimore political figure,” Frenkel stated. Klacik’s legal team also alleges that the false accusations caused her to lose a book deal, among other business ventures.
Last year, Klacik ran for the congressional seat in Maryland, looking to fill the position previously occupied by Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.). Before losing to Democratic Rep. Kweisi Mfume, Klacik was endorsed by former President Trump.
Candace Owens slammed the lawsuit on Twitter, brushing off Klacik’s allegations.
“Kimberly Klacik is a former stripper fraud who has me blocked on EVERY social media account since I exposed her shady FEC filings. She launched an obviously frivolous lawsuit (read it) about me calling her a “madame” to distract/avoid questions about her FEC filings,” the tweet read.
Serena Williams Withdraws From U.S. Open Due To Hamstring Injury!
Serena Williams pulled out of the last Grand Slam tournament of the year citing a hamstring injury.
“After careful consideration and following the advice of my doctors and medical team, I have decided to withdraw from the US Open to allow my body to heal completely from a torn hamstring,” Williams announced on Instagram.
Williams’ coach, Patrick Mouratoglou wrote in his own post, “It is heartbreaking, but this is the only possible decision.”
Serena Williams recently recovered from an injury to her right leg at her first-round match at Wimbledon in June.
But this isn’t the end for the 6-time U.S. Open champion who concluded her announcement with “I’ll see you soon.”
Rachel Nichols Reacts to ESPN Canceling Her Show "The Jump"!
ESPN has removed NBA reporter Rachel Nichols from all of its NBA coverage and canceled her weekday show, "The Jump," one month after controversial audio leaked of her insinuating that colleague Maria Taylor was chosen to cover the NBA Finals because of her race.
"We mutually agreed that this approach regarding our NBA coverage was best for all concerned," said ESPN Senior VP of Production David Roberts. "Rachel is an excellent reporter, host and journalist, and we thank her for her many contributions to our NBA content."
Nichols reacted to the news on social media and thanked the staff for their contributions to the show, which lasted for five years.
"Got to create a whole show and spend five years hanging out with some of my favorite people talking about one my favorite things," Nichols wrote. "An eternal thank you to our amazing producers & crew – The Jump was never built to last forever but it sure was fun. More to come."
Rachel Nichols remains under contract with ESPN, but she will not host the final episodes of "The Jump.
Walmart is Launching a Delivery Service to Battle Food Delivery Services Like DoorDash and Instacart!
Walmart is launching a delivery service to jump into the food delivery industry.
DoorDash and Instacart, move out of the way because Walmart is about to give you a run for your money. On Tuesday, the grocery store giant announced it would start commercializing its delivery platform, Fox Business reports. It plans to deliver goods and other products with the help of drones and contract workers.
Walmart has always had a delivery service and Express delivery. But now, the retailer wants to scale a part of it down to focus on serving local communities and businesses.
“We’ve worked hard to develop a reliable last-mile delivery program for our customers. Now, we’re pleased to be able to use these capabilities to serve another set of customers, local merchants,” said Tom Ward, senior vice president of customer products at Walmart.
The company has already solidified partnerships with several national and small-businesses clients who will work with them on the new venture. The extension of the delivery service is set to start in the next few months, reports Fox Business.
TikTok Addresses Dangers Of The Milk Crate Challenge!
A new challenge has hit TikTok and it has the company worried about their users injuring themselves.
In a rare statement obtained by Fast Company, a spokesperson for TikTok addressed the viral “Milk Crate Challenge,” saying they will begin removing videos that “glorify dangerous acts” from the platform.
“TikTok prohibits content that promotes or glorifies dangerous acts, and we remove videos and redirect searches to our Community Guidelines to discourage such content,” the social media platform said in a statement. “We encourage everyone to exercise caution in their behavior whether online or off.” Complex Magazine quotes.
While we haven’t heard of any major injuries yet from the crate challenge, there’s been a few people who have come out with bruises and scratches.
Social media users who haven’t been participating in the new game have encouraged others to be careful. However, it doesn’t look like many people are too concerned about getting hurt. The challenge has taken to social media, with tons of videos going viral.
