Chris Evans for “Newsweek” Magazine!

Chris Evans is featured in the latest issue of Newsweek magazine photographed by Nino Muñoz and styled by Ilaria Urbinati.

“When I was a teenager, politics felt like something that was far away from what mattered to me. Maybe if I had had a chance to listen to powerful voices from someone like a Katie Porter, I’d have been inspired and curious.”

“You can find a 30-second video on how to do almost anything, but where do you go to get a quick breakdown on a political issue, and hear what both sides have to say about it? It felt like a big missing piece to me.”

“We saw a lot of people in one party really show a shortage of integrity in recent years. That makes it hard to put them on the same plane as the other party.”

#RHOA: Shamea Morton’s ‘Racist’ Encounter At Le Bilboquet Restaurant Revealed!

Le Bilboquet French bistro in Buckhead Atlanta was trending for all the wrong reasons last month after reportedly turning away former NBA legend Dominique Wilkins for wearing casual clothing.

At the time, Wilkins, a longtime star for the Atlanta Hawks, blasted the restaurant and accused it of discriminating against him due to his race.

“In my many years in the world, I’ve eaten at some of the greatest restaurants in the world, but never have I felt prejudice or been turned away because of the color of my skin, until today,” Wilkins tweeted on May 22.

The restaurant followed up with an apology to Wilkins and an update to its “business casual” dress code to include jeans and sneakers, Fox News reports.

“We, at Le Bilboquet, do our best to accommodate all of our guests. However, we have received consistent complaints from our patrons regarding other guest’s wardrobe choices,” the restaurant said. “As a result, to protect our restaurant’s culture, we installed a minimum standard in our ‘business casual attire dress code which includes jeans and sneakers but prohibits baseball caps and athletic clothing including sweat pants and tops.”

However, it’s now been revealed that The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Shamea Morton was also turned away from the same establishment on April 8 despite being dressed in “fashionable” attire.

“Morton Came To Le Bilboquet Around 3 Pm For A Business Meeting,” A Source Familiar With The Incident Told Eurweb. “She Had A Reservation Already In Place. At The Time, Shamea Entered The Establishment Wearing A Fashionable Suit. She Was Immediately Told By Management That She Wouldn’t Be Allowed Entry Based On Her Attire.”

The insider detailed Shamea began to notice all of the “Caucasian” guests seated but not in compliance with the enforced dress policy.

“Shamea started recording videos of different ‘Caucasian’ guests wearing sneakers, some wearing ‘Slides’ which were prohibited according to the listed dress code,” the source said. After bringing this to the manager Mark’s attention, the insider claims the manager “insisted that they were within their rights to be seated.”

“Shamea Went On To Show Mark A Video Of A Caucasian Woman Wearing ‘Slides’ That Were On The Restricted Dress Code List And His Reply Was Simply ‘Those Are Pretty,'” The Source Said.

A video clip supports Shamea’s claims of White patrons casually dressed. The source said Shamea told has been turned away from the establishment three times.

#HipHopNews: Is Kanye West Aiming For ‘MBDTF’ Magic Recording In Hawaii?

HONOLULU, HI – Kanye West had what sounded like an epic meltdown during a recent court-ordered deposition with Black-owned business MyChannel, who’s suing the Hip Hop mogul for allegedly stealing the company’s technology to sell his Sunday Service merchandise.

But according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, the Plaintiffs learned he was in Honolulu, Hawaii “recording an album” and didn’t want to be bothered by their paltry $63,000 lawsuit. After all, Kanye reportedly said they were “lucky” to be deposing the “richest Black man in America and a Black Trump supporter.”

Hawaii has been fertile ground for Kanye West’s creative genius before. In 2010, he famously worked on his magnum opus My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy among the lush Hawaiian foliage and crashing Pacific Ocean waves. He flew in several of his favorite producers and artists to work on the project, including Q-Tip, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, Mike Dean, No I.D. and RZA.

As Pusha T told Complex at the time, working with Kanye on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was an unforgettably grandiose experience.

“Kanye West is the hardest working man in music,” he said. “If it wasn’t for deadlines, I don’t know if anything would be finished. I’ve heard things that I thought were perfect, and I come back and they’re more perfect — and they’re still not done.

“The guy’s the maestro. It’s a totally unorthodox way—well, it’s unorthodox to me, ’cause I’ve never seen anyone work in pieces like that. It was really on some Quincy Jones shit, man.”

Whether Kanye is attempting to recreate the magic he found in Hawaii over a decade ago remains to be seen.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling almost 500,000 copies in its opening week and is often heralded as some of Ye’s best work. By comparison, 2019’s Jesus Is King landed atop the Billboard 200 upon its release, selling roughly half of what My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy did.

Kanye fans have been clamoring for a new project since he promised DONDA last year. In March, CyHi The Prynce told VladTV Kanye’s impending divorce from Kim Kardashian delayed the album.

“That right there, it’s a little monkey wrench in the game,” he said. “It’s all in the world now. Unfortunately, it’s sad. I don’t know if that’s gonna go all the way through, but I’m praying they figure it out. But that’s kinda like the hold-off, and you know he’s working on a lot of different things, so we’re getting back to it.”

#RIP: Legendary Actor Ned Beatty, Known for ‘Deliverance’ and ‘Network,’ Dies at 83!

Film and TV actor Ned Beatty, who was Oscar nominated for his supporting role in “Network” and appeared in a number of the most significant American films of the 1970s, has died. He was 83.

Beatty’s management confirmed his death to Variety, adding that he died from natural causes on Sunday morning surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Los Angeles.

Beatty appeared in four films that were nominated for the Oscar best picture award in the 1970s: “Deliverance” (1972), “Nashville” (1975), “All the President’s Men” (1976) and “Network” (1976). In addition, he voiced a character, Lotso, in 2010’s “Toy Story 3,” which was also nominated.

The actor was equally at home in the drama of “All the President’s Men,” in which he played a reporter who uncovers part of the conspiracy, and the buffoonery of his role in 1977’s “Superman,” in which he played Lex Luthor’s sidekick Otis.

Beatty was lucky enough to come to the attention of both the public and the critics with his first film role, as the genial vacationing hunter Bobby who is the victim of a sadistic sexual assault in John Boorman’s landmark 1972 drama “Deliverance.”

Beatty gave many excellent supporting performances as unsympathetic characters. In Robert Altman’s “Nashville,” for example, Beatty portrayed a politically connected lawyer who is impatient with his deaf children, making no effort to communicate with them.

In “Network,” Beatty had a small but memorable role as the head of the conglomerate that owns the network, described by the New York Times as “a folksy messiah, beautifully played by Ned Beatty, [who] is the mouthpiece for some of [Paddy] Chayefsky’s bluntest thoughts about the current state of the wealth of nations.” He utters the famous line “It’s because you’re on television, dummy.”

By the mid-1970s, Beatty was also a steady presence in TV through guest shots in “Gunsmoke,” “The Rockford Files,” “Hawaii 5-0,” “Hunter,” “Delvecchio,” and in TV movies such as 1980’s “Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones” in which Beatty played Rep. Leo Ryan, the San Francisco congressional rep who was gunned down in 1978.

One highlight of Beatty’s film work in the 1980s was the New Orleans-set Dennis Quaid vehicle “The Big Easy,” in which Beatty played, in the words of Roger Ebert, “the police chief who sincerely wants to do the right thing and sincerely cannot” in what amounted to “his finest performance in years.”

Another ’80s highlight was “Hear My Song,” in which Beatty played the central character, an Irish tenor on the lam from the tax man and actually absent for most of the movie. Rolling Stone’s Peter Travers declared that “his finely shaded, deeply romantic performance as Locke is a unique and unexpected pleasure.”

The actor also turned in a great deal of excellent work on television, drawing an Emmy nomination in 1979 for the topical telepic “Friendly Fire,” in which Beatty and Carol Burnett starred as a couple who, while mourning the death of their son, uncover the ugly realities of the war in Vietnam. He was also nominated in 1989 for his work in the family film “Last Train Home.”

Most memorable of his TV efforts, however, was his performance as the acerbic Detective Stanley Bolander on the excellent ensemble police drama “Homicide: Life on the Street” in the early 1990s.

Earlier, in 1975, he turned in a powerful guest performance on “MASH” as Col. Hollister, the puritanical Army chief of chaplains who arrives at the 4077th to evaluate Father Mulcahy.

Beatty made two attempts at starring in a series of his own, with the brief 1977 sitcom “Szysznyk” and 1993’s even briefer “The Boys,” in which he played the father of Christopher Meloni’s character. He recurred on “Roseanne” in the early ’90s as the huckster father of John Goodman’s character. He was also a regular panelist on “The New Hollywood Squares” from 1987 to 1988.

More recently, Beatty played a senile judge who had become the puppet of his law clerk in a 2006 episode of “Law and Order,” and on a 2007 episode of “CSI” he played a memorably serene but creepy dentist who is unmasked as a serial killer.

Ned Thomas Beatty was born in Louisville, Ky. At age 10, he began singing with professional gospel quartets. He spent the early years of his acting career at the Barter Theater in Abingdon, Va., followed by the Erie (Penn.) Playhouse, Houston’s Playhouse Theater and Washington, D.C.’s Arena Stage Company. He appeared on Broadway in the original 1968 production of “The Great White Hope” that starred James Earl Jones and Jane Alexander, and returned to the Main Stem in 2003 to star as Big Daddy in a revival of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” that also starred Ashley Judd and Jason Patric.

Of Beatty’s performance as Big Daddy, the New York Times declared, “From the moment Mr. Beatty first shows up in the play’s second act, he brings with him the invigorating breeze of passionate, scrupulously detailed acting. As long as he is allowed to dominate the stage, Anthony Page’s production exhales the galvanizing honesty that is the elusive holy grail for Big Daddy.”]=

At the Music Center in Los Angeles he starred in a revival of the musical “Showboat” in 1996.

Though he did not sing for himself in the film “Hear My Song,” he released an album of Christian music, “In the Beginning Was the Word,” in 2006.

Beatty was married four times, the first time to Walta Abbott, the second to actress Belinda Beatty, and the third to Dorothy “Tinker” Lindsey.

He is survived by fourth wife Sandra Johnson; four children from his marriage to Abbott; two children from his marriage to Beatty; and two children from his marriage to Lindsey.

Beyoncé Celebrates Twins Rumi And Sir Carter’s 4th Birthday!

Rumi and Sir Carter are growing up fast. In honor of their 4th birthday on Sunday (June 13), Beyoncé shared heartfelt birthday wishes for her twin son and daughter.

“What’s better than 1 gift… 2,” Bey wrote on her official website. “Happy birthday Rumi & Sir.”

Beyoncé and JAY-Z welcomed their twins on June 13, 2017. They have kept their lives mostly off social media, but in March, Bey shared some rare photos of her with her three children, including 9-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, enjoying a day at the beach. They dined at Nobu in Malibu and took a stroll on the sandy shore with their mother.

In a 2017 interview with Rap Radar, JAY-Z revealed how he and his wife choose the names Rumi and Sir. “Rumi is our favorite poet, so it was for our daughter,” he said. “Sir was like, man, come out the gate. He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir.”

During the Grammy Awards in March, Beyoncé shouted out all her kids when she became the most-awarded female artist in Grammy history. The same night, she and Blue also won Best Music Video for “Brown Skin Girl.”

“It’s such a magical night, thank you so much. I know my daughter is watching,” said the proud mom while accepting the award for Best R&B Performance for “Black Parade.” “Two daughters and my son, they’re all watching. Blue, congratulations, she won a Grammy tonight. I’m so proud of you and I’m so honored to be your mommy, all of your mommy’s. Y’all are my babies, and I’m so proud of y’all.”

Serena Williams Flaunts Beach Body In One-Piece Swimsuit!

Just days after getting knocked out of the French Open in the fourth round, the tennis star was photographed kicking back with her family in the South of France — and showing off her beach body in the process.

Photos show Williams, 39, wearing a bright one-piece swimsuit while spending time with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and their 3-year-old daughter, Olympia, on Saturday.

Williams looked happy as she frolicked with her family in the water — though she did appear shocked at one point by the temperature of the sea that day.

Serena Williams shows off her incredible physique as she soaks up the sun in the South of France.

At one point, both Wlliams and Ohanian, 38, ventured onto the high dive, and the Reddit co-founder was seen adventurously catapulting himself into the air before landing in the water.

While Williams and little Olympia — who love a twinning fashion moment — didn’t quite match for their outing, both of their swimsuits did feature colorful patterns with pink and blue. Ohanian’s blue-and-pink floral swim trunks also coordinated with the gals’ swimwear styles.

Earlier in the week, Williams, who has won the French Open three times over the years, lost 6-3, 7-5 to Elena Rybakina. When asked if this week’s showing might have been her final at the French Open, she said, “Yeah, I’m definitely not thinking about it at all. I’m definitely thinking just about other things, but not about that.”

Ohanian shows his daredevilish side with a jump from the high dive.

Ohanian was there in the stands to cheer on his wife of nearly four years.

Box Office: 'In the Heights' Disappoints With $11 Million Opening Weekend!

"In the Heights," the acclaimed adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Broadway show, didn't hit all the right notes in its box office debut.

The Warner Bros. movie generated a wane $11.4 million from 3,456 U.S. theaters in its first four days of release, below expectations heading into the weekend that suggested the film would reach $20 million. "In the Heights" also opened on HBO Max, the streaming service owned by the studio's parent company WarnerMedia, though the company didn't report its digital viewership.

The disappointing commercial reception is puzzling because critics embraced the film, showering it with some of the best reviews of the pandemic era. Moreover, Warner Bros. put substantial marketing heft behind the picture, and director Jon M. Chu and Miranda devoted a great deal of energy into promoting the movie, which compensated for the fact that its cast was comprised of mostly unknown stars and emerging actors.

The film's hybrid release on HBO Max likely affected in-theater turnout, but it isn't the sole reason that inaugural ticket sales for "In the Heights" came in under projections. Recent Warner Bros. releases like "Godzilla vs. Kong," "Mortal Kombat and "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It" still pulled in solid receipts despite being offered simultaneously on streaming. But, as audiences are slowly making their way back to theaters, box office charts are indicating that people have been more inclined to show up for properties with more brand recognition. Though the Tony Award-winning "In the Heights" isn't an original property like "La La Land" or "The Greatest Showman," it's not as well known as Miranda's other musical sensation "Hamilton," or even "Rent," "Les Miserables" or "Cats."

To that end, box office prognosticators believe "In the Heights" can find an audience over the summer, similar to the box office sleeper hit that was 2017's musical "The Greatest Showman." The Fox movie debuted to a muted $8.8 million, but audiences fell in love with the soundtrack and Hugh Jackman's charisma and returned to theaters over and over again. It tapped out with $174 million and $438 million globally, a huge result. Though "In the Heights" isn't expected to reach those box office heights, it doesn't have much competition on the horizon and could continue to play on the big screen.

Based on the 2008 Broadway show, "In the Heights" follows a bodega owner named Usnavi (Anthony Ramos), who discovers that his mom-and-pop stop-and-shop has sold a winning lottery ticket. As the lively neighborhood of Washington Heights in upper Manhattan reaches sweltering hot temperatures, friendships, relationships and dreams are put to the test. The ensemble cast also includes Melissa Barrera, Leslie Grace, Corey Hawkins and Olga Merediz. Quiara Alegr?a Hudes, who wrote the book of the musical, penned the screenplay. "In the Heights" carries a $55 million production budget.

Also new to theaters this weekend, Sony's animated family film "Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway" arrived with a middling $10.4 million from 3,346 venues through Sunday. Amid the pandemic, films catered to family crowds, like Universal's "The Croods: A New Age" and Warner Bros.' "Tom and Jerry," have been reliable theatrical draws, so the "Peter Rabbit" sequel could have a long life on movie theater marquees.

Overseas, "Peter Rabbit 2" has already made $45 million. It cost $45 million to make.

Meghan Markle’s Dad Thinks Oprah Took Advantage Of “Weak Harry”!

Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan Markle, claims he and Prince Charles have something in common- they’ve both been ghosted by their children.

According to TMZ, Thomas Markle interviewed with Australia’s “60 Minutes” and criticized Oprah for taking advantage of a “weakened” Prince Harry to build her own network.

“I have things to say. Oprah Winfrey, for one, I think is playing Harry and Meghan,” Thomas proclaimed. “I think she is using them to build her network and build her new shows, and I think she’s taken advantage of a very weakened man and has got him to say things that you just shouldn’t be saying on television.”

Thomas went further by saying, “She [Oprah] will disagree of course, and she may even sue me.  I don’t care. But, the bottom line is she is working with Harry.”

Meghan’s father also expressed his disappointment with learning about the birth of his new granddaughter through a public statement released from the couple in the media.

“I see them both ghosting their families completely, and now they are alone in a huge house where they can probably accommodate 20 people in, but it’s just the 4 of them. I don’t think they are going to have relatives over for a barbeque next week or next month,” the eldest Markle lamented.

Fugees rapper Pras, Jho Low charged in scheme to get Trump administration to drop 1MDB probe!

A federal grand jury hit the fugitive Malaysian financier Jho Low and Fugees rapper Prakazrel “Pras” Michel with new criminal charges.

Low and Michel are accused of running a back-channel campaign to get the Trump administration to drop an investigation of Low and the 1MDB investment company.

The campaign also tried to have Chinese dissident billionaire Guo Wengui, also known as Miles Kwok, returned to China.

A federal grand jury has hit the fugitive Malaysia financier Jho Low and Fugees rapper Prakazrel “Pras” Michel with new criminal charges, accusing them of running a back-channel campaign to get the Trump administration to drop an investigation of Low and the 1MDB investment company and to have a Chinese dissident returned to China.

The new charges against Low, 39, and the 48-year-old Michel come six months after former President Donald Trump pardoned former top Republican fundraiser Elliot Broidy in connection with his guilty plea in October for his role in the illegal lobbying effort on Low’s behalf.

Because of his pardon, Broidy would be unable to invoke his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination if called to testify at a grand jury investigating his activities related to Low and Michel.

Broidy, who is a Los Angeles-based businessman, was paid $9 million for his efforts on their behalf, with “the expectation of tens of millions more in success fees,” federal authorities have said.

Low and Michel were charged two years ago in federal court in Washington, D.C., with allegedly illegally funneling millions of dollars of Low’s money to support the 2012 presidential campaign of then-President Barack Obama.

The Justice Department for years has investigated and filed criminal cases and civil forfeiture actions related to the embezzlement of billions of dollars from 1Malaysia Development Berhad, or 1MDB, a strategic investment and development company that is wholly owned by the government of Malaysia.

Low, who is believed to be in China, is allegedly at the center of that scheme to loot 1MBD. He was charged in 2018 in Brooklyn federal court with conspiring to launder billions of dollars embezzled from the company and with paying bribes to officials in Malaysia and Abu Dhabi.

Low and his associates allegedly used some swindled cash to buy real estate, yachts and jets, as well as to finance Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street,” a film about a financial fraudster.

The indictment issued Thursday by a grand jury in Washington accuses Low and Michel of conspiring with Broidy, a woman named Nickie Lum Davis and others “to engage in undisclosed lobbying campaigns at the direction of Low and the Vice Minister of Public Security for the People’s Republic of China, respectively,” according to the Justice Department.

The goals of those campaigns were “both to have the 1MDB embezzlement investigation and forfeiture proceedings involving Low and others dropped and to have a Chinese dissident sent back to China.”

That dissident is understood to be billionaire Guo Wengui, also known as Miles Kwok and Miles Guo.

The new indictment also accuses Michel and Low of conspiring to commit money laundering related to the foreign influence campaigns, the Justice Department said. Michel is additionally charged with witness tampering and conspiracy to make false statements to banks.

Davis pleaded guilty in August to violating the foreign lobbying act as part of the Justice Department’s probe involving 1MDB.

Also in August, Trump’s former senior advisor Steve Bannon was arrested on Guo’s yacht, off the coast of Connecticut, on federal criminal charges accusing him and others of defrauding thousands of donors through a crowdfunding campaign to privately build sections of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Trump pardoned Bannon on his last night in office in January, the same time he pardoned Broidy.

The investment bank Goldman Sachs last year entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with the Justice Department related to the conspiracy in which the bank and its Malaysian unit violated U.S. bribery laws by paying Malaysian and Abu Dhabi officials to get business from 1MDB.

Goldman, which received around $600 million in fees for bond deals that funded the bank, agreed to pay more than $2.9 billion as part of that deferred prosecution agreement.

Kamala Harris Becomes the First U.S. Vice President to Attend a Gay Pride Parade!

Kamala Harris on Saturday became the first sitting vice president to have marched in a pride parade.

She and husband Doug Emhoff attended the Capital Pride Walk in Washington, DC. Harris wore a shirt with the slogan "love is love" imprinted on it, while Emhoff's said "love first" 11 times in multiple colors, resembling a rainbow.

"Happy Pride," Harris told other marchers, according to WRC-TV, an affiliate of NBC News.

She also called for the government to pass the Equality Act, which would ensure federal protections for LGBT people. So far, the House has passed the Equality Act, but it's unclear whether the Senate will take it up. Harris also issued words of support for trans people.

"We need to make sure that our transgender community and our youth are all protected. We need, still, protections around employment and housing," Harris said, according to WRC-TV. "There is so much more work to do, and I know we are committed."

In numerous remarks, the Biden-Harris administration has indicated the LGBT community has its full government support.

Earlier in June, for example, in recognition of pride, the White House said "no one should face discrimination or harassment because of who they are or whom they love."

"The President has the back of LGBTQ+ people across the country and will continue fighting for full equality for every American – including through continuing to urge the U.S. Senate to pass the Equality Act and provide overdue civil rights protections to LGBTQ+ people and families across the country," the White House statement continued.

Biden To Name Pulse Nightclub A National Memorial!

The deadliest attack on the LGBTQ community in U.S. history left 49 people dead and 53 people wounded as “Latin Night” was being celebrated at the club. Biden said in a statement Saturday that he has “stayed in touch with families of the victims and with the survivors who have turned their pain into purpose” and described the club as “hallowed ground.”

The president emphasized that the country must do more to reduce gun violence, such as banning assault weapons and closing loopholes in regulations that enable gun buyers to bypass background checks. Biden said the nation must acknowledge that gun violence has hurt members of the LGBTQ community

“We must drive out hate and inequities that contribute to the epidemic of violence and murder against transgender women — especially transgender women of color,” Biden said.

White House advisers Susan Rice and Cedric Richmond hosted a virtual roundtable on Friday with LGBTQ leaders, gun violence survivors and gun control advocates.

Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Douglas Emhoff, walked Saturday with the crowd for the Capitol Pride Walk And Rally in Washington.

“We still have so much to do,” Harris said.
